Yet, many cases remain undiagnosed or misunderstood, as the manifestations of anxiety can be subtle or mistaken for natural aging processes. The nervous system, which governs our fight-or-flight responses, may become more sensitive with age, making older adults particularly vulnerable. Unfortunately, underdiagnosis persists, often due to stigma or overlapping health issues. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, this challenge highlights the urgent need for holistic frameworks to support resilience in later life.
