In the United States, there are over 1 million licensed physicians, of which approximately 90% are Medical Doctors (MDs) and nearly 10% are Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) (AAMC Data, AOA Statistics). Both types address the full spectrum of health, but DOs place additional emphasis on the musculoskeletal system.
