4. In Wet Drowning, the Person Dies of Circulatory Distress

A victim of wet drowning does not actually die from the water in the lungs. What happens is that the water gets quickly absorbed into the bloodstream because the body mistakes it for oxygen, which must be quickly transported to cells.
