28. Once you get into the central part of the hotel, you want to inspect the lobby closely.
While the lobby isn’t exactly the first part of the hotel you will see upon arrival as you have already looked at the parking lot, lawn, the exterior of the building, and an entryway, it is usually the main part of the hotel. The lobby is the part of the hotel where employees are known to constantly clean and make sure that everything is in its spot. One reason for this is because it is thought to be the main common area of the hotel. Another reason is that it is usually carefully watched by the hotel staff.
Many people tend to skip the inspection of the lobby because they don’t feel like they will spend time in the area. For example, you know you won’t be sleeping on the couches in the lobby. The primary key for checking the lobby is that it will give you a good idea about the rest of the hotel. It’s similar to common areas in a home, such as a living room or dining room – they are usually a little cleaner than a private bedroom.
