29. Hoh Rain Forest, Olympic National Forest, Washington, is a wonder near the ocean.
The Amazon may be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of rain forest, but it is certainly not the only one. The state of Washington is home to four rain forests, including one of the lushest and wettest places on the planet. The Hoh Rain Forest is the most northern rain forest globally and is located on the Olympic Peninsula. The ecosystem has remained unchanged for thousands and thousands of years. If you love hiking, you will be amazed at the hundred-foot-tall trees that are bursting with pops of greenery all around them. The best part about this outside wonder is that you can get your relaxation in on a budget, as long as you bring your camping accommodations (via USA Today).
