28. Easter Island in Chile is more than just a bunch of pretty faces.
The remote volcanic island is most famous for the mysterious towering heads, but Easter Island has so much more in store. It is one of the most remote places in the entire world, and it covers just 170 square kilometers in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. Not only is it gorgeous here, but there is a lot of rich history, and the Rapa Nui people created thousands of moal monuments. Those who like to hike will love to travel to the top of Mount Terevaka, where they can see an endless horizon of the beautiful sea (via USA Today).
