57. Illness Will Become More Common
The older you get, the less your immune system will be able to cope with the challenges of the germs that you encounter in daily life. Around mid-life, you will start getting sicker more often, and possibly more severely, than when you were in your twenties and thirties. If you already deal with chronic illness, do what you can to get it under control before your fortieth birthday. Start getting in the habit of getting your flu shot because the disease will take more of a toll on your body. Furthermore, get regular screenings for common conditions to be detected before they become life-inhibiting.
